A leading expert in the field of transportation

We work 24/7

At a meeting on October 1 in Yerevan, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council approved a roadmap for the implementation of the Main Directions and Stages of the Coordinated (Agreed) Transport Policy of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2024–2026.

The roadmap defines joint measures of the Eurasian Economic Commission and authorized bodies in the field of transport for the practical implementation of the key strategic document – the Main Directions and Stages of Implementation of Transport Policy.

The roadmap activities are aimed at consistently deepening integration processes in the transport sector, namely, achieving the goals of creating a single transport space and a common market for transport services in the Union.

In preparing the document, experts took into account the specific developments of automobile, rail, air and water transport in modern conditions and an assessment of the possibility of harmonizing their regulation, as well as industry-wide aspects of transport activities.

The document includes such significant measures as the formation of a list of "bottlenecks" in the transport infrastructure in the territories of the EAEU countries in the "East-West" and "North-South" directions and the development of proposals for their elimination. In addition, the countries plan to improve the Union's law and the legislation of the member states for the implementation of electronic transport documents in the EAEU, including the refusal to use paper documents in the transport sector and the transition to electronic data exchange.

In total, the document includes 33 points of activities agreed upon by the countries to be implemented in 2024-2026. They are a logical continuation of the previous three-year roadmaps for 2018-2020 and 2021-2023.

The heads of government also instructed the Commission and the parties to continue consultations on a number of important areas of transport integration, in particular on air transport and human resource development, and, after further study, to submit the agreed measures for consideration by the Intergovernmental Council.

This work must be completed by 1 February 2025. The development of additional measures will not hinder the full implementation of the roadmap for 2024-2026, approved by the order of the Intergovernmental Council.
